Bacon Wrapped soda can burger are an awesome twist to put on a summer classic. The burger is wrapped around a soda can to form a bowl, then stuff with your favorite toppings.

Maximum flavor all around!

With summer just around the corner, its time to get into the thick of the grilling season. My grill has gotten a beating over the last couple years, so they were in dire need for upgrading,

I’m excited to be using the Weber Genesis II Gas Grill this summer and sharing a few awesome recipes along the way.

The other night I decided to break in the Genesis II Gas Grill and treat the family to my bacon wrapped soda can burgers. What is so awesome about this burger is that its up to your imagination of what toppings you want to use.

The wife and had grilled onion and mushrooms, while I treated Brayden to any child’s dream. A burger filled with MAC AND CHEESE!

What’s 2-zone grilling?

So for this cook, This method, also known as 2-zone grilling is when you divide your grill into two temperature zones.

Direct grill zone is where your food is cooked on the grates over the heat source, indirect there is no heat source under the food. The heat comes from the burners on the other end of the grill.

This gives a lot of flexibility when cooking food that requires more time, without risking burning the outside and while the inside is undercooked. Which is exactly what I’m looking for on this cook.

The Genesis II Gas Grill is how easy it is for me to control temperatures for 2-zone grilling. The tapered, heat bars, keep the heat even and precise so that I can cook these burgers a little slower, so they cook evenly along with the bacon.

Then put them over direct heat to sear off the bottom of the burger bowls at the end to get that amazing charred flavor to finish off these sodas can burgers.

This is was such a fun dinner idea. Everyone got to eat what they wanted, and some good quality time was spend outdoors enjoying that sunny California weather with the fam and breaking in a new grill.  The true trifecta!
